Postpartum (Mama’s Diaper) Caddy Must Haves

I am still over here prepping for baby 2, and it is safe to say I am still in nesting mode. My house is NEVER clean enough or organized enough. God bless Jared (my husband) 

. Now, I am 37 weeks pregnant! Excuse me…where did the time go?! Baby 2 could be here any minute. Josie arrived between the 38th and 39th weeks of my pregnancy, 10 days early, so who knows when the next one will decide it’s time to make an appearance! I am in a bit of a panic prepping for this baby's arrival because I know that once the baby is here, nothing will get done until after Christmas…newborns, they are no joke! A necessity to have once the baby is here is a postpartum caddy (TMI - really it’s a diaper caddy for mom). Everyone’s experiences are different, but in my experience, the recovery and keeping a newborn happy and alive phase is WAY more challenging than actually birthing said newborn. You literally created a life for nine-ten months and then you are just sent home with a newborn with no instructions; good luck! Not to mention, your body just went through this hugely traumatic (however wonderful) experience and you need to recover too. Being prepared makes sure that you are not only taking care of your baby, but yourself also. You are important too mama!

These items are things that I absolutely used and loved when I was recovering with Josie (besides #10). I am certain that if you have these items, your postpartum recovery will be significantly more manageable, and dare I say pleasant. Postpartum Caddy Must Haves

As I am preparing for the arrival of baby 2, I am in full nesting mode. When I say full nesting mode, I mean touching up paint level of nesting. It is wild to be completely exhausted while chasing a toddler daily at 32 weeks pregnant, but at the same time, have an overwhelming need to prep the house for the arrival of a little tiny human, who will just further destroy the house. One thing that I am grateful to have had when Josie was a newborn was a diaper caddy. So, you better believe that I am going to be prepping one for Josie and the new baby. 2 under 2 here we come… When Josie was in her first weeks of life, having a changing station on both floors of our house was insanely helpful. The caddy on the main floor of our house was mobile and could travel with the baby. I also brought the caddy into our bedroom at night to make the night feedings and changings more smooth. I quickly learned what I liked having in the caddy and what was unnecessary. These are some of the items that will be making an appearance in my diaper caddy: 

These 8 plus items really helped with Josie, and I am hoping they help with the next babe! I am sure there will be new or different items that I will add or remove, but for now this is what I am sticking with. I hope that anyone who is currently prepping or hoping to prep for a little one finds one of these suggestions helpful.

Diaper Caddy for 2 under 2

With the start of school in the near future, I have been thinking of ways to make myself more prepared and organized. I don’t know about you, but I get so much more work done when I am working in a clean and organized space. When my space is not put together, I tend to bounce from tasks and get distracted. There are so many uncertainties about the school year. One thing that I can control at the moment is my work from home space.

There were a few things that I wanted to have in the space:

1. Plenty of storage for the ridiculous amount of stuff that I have

2. A large desk space to spread out and work

3. Organizers for small items that are regularly kept out

4. A bright and happy space that makes me want to work there

This space is so bright and inviting. If any of the school year is going to be online, then I will have a space that is ready to go!

Am I the only one who loses clothes in the back of my closet or drawer because I repeat and wear the same clothes that are easy to grab and on top? I have found that being organized has helped me to actually wear all of my clothes that I have purchased. Now don’t get me wrong, I have some tried and true things that I wear especially when I workout - I mean I wear shirts with holes in them for no reason when working out. But, with that said staying organized has helped me to cycle through more of my clothes.

To stay organized, I first took everything out of my closet and filled up bags and bags of clothes that I no longer wanted or needed. This helped to create more space for the ridiculous amount of clothes that I have. Also, I was able to donate clothes that did not serve a purpose for me.

Secondly, I separated my clothes by type. I put all of my tank tops, short sleeves, long sleeves, etc. into different sections.

Third, I put each section hanging in the closet and organized each section by color. I have found that if I have my clothes hanging up, then it is much easier to see what you have to wear.

Also, I know exactly where to put things back after they are worn and washed. Also, the color order is so pleasing on the eyes.

For the other items in my closet, I have a shoe rack that houses most of my shoes, but my bigger shoes and boots are on a shelf above my hanging clothes.

I do have piles of some clothes and some clothes in drawers along with my hanging clothes. I have some piles of clothes above my hanging clothes, but I also have a cube organizer that has been wonderful for keeping piles off of the floor. Plus putting piles into the baskets hide some of the messy piles.

These are some tips that have worked for me to keep my closet clean, organized and functional.

Closet Organization

I know that I cannot be the only one who has lost something in the depths of their pantry. I look and look, but whatever I am looking for is nowhere to be found. But right on schedule, after I buy the missing item at the store...the missing item appears, and there are usually multiples of the item. Of course. 

I decided to put my free time to good use and organize my pantry. I already had some containers from Walmart and Sam’s, but it clearly wasn’t cutting it. I took everything, yes everything, out of my pantry. I tossed expired and/or stale items, made a grocery list, and ordered extra containers that would work in my space.

I had already organized my ‘baking’ section with items that I had gotten from Walmart. I used a variety of sizes depending on the baking ingredient. The specific items I used are 

. I used my Cricut to cut out the labels - transfer paper is KEY.

Below the baking shelf is where the majority of our breakfast items are kept. I used 

 containers from Sam's Club to organize the boxes and bags of cereal that were taking over our shelves. Again, I used my magical Cricut to cut out the labels and transfer them to the containers.

 are from Walmart, and they hold a ton of stuff. The 

 one is also from Walmart and is a great size. The black 

 are from the Container Store. I love the grains and snacks (next shelf down) 

 because they are huge, clear, and have a divider. This divider makes it easier to organize items in the large container space. My goal was to eliminate clunky boxes and oversized bags to maximize the space. Also, labeling the containers and baskets will make it easy to see what we are running low on, and will hopefully prevent over buying on items that we do not need.

I used the cereal containers for snack items. These work great because they typically can fit multiple bags of a single item, so we are not running out as quickly or taking up as much space. I am currently using 

 from Bed, Bath and Beyond to store pasta, m&ms, and nuts. 

 houses all of the random sauces or bottles that would have previously been shoved in a corner of the pantry. The lip on the edge of the surface is great because it keeps all of the items in place when turning it.

Jared’s favorite part of the pantry is what he likes to call 'stadium seating' for the cans. I mean it sounds ridiculous, but this storage item is essentially that. The cans are on

 that allows for easy viewing access of all canned food.

Overall, the new organization tools have helped tremendously to keep the pantry looking ‘Pinterest worthy’. Most importantly, it has helped keep Jared and I organized with all of the cooking from home these days.

I would love to see any pantry organization that you decided to take on. Even if it is just one shelf. Little progress is still progress.
